I will be posting the 'IV' brochure at two grocery stores in my town. I have also made some contacts with Chinese and Indian students at a university here. I would check with them if they can post our brochures

I'm from Bangladesh and EB3. As you know the I485 was current in July and i applied along with my EAD and AP. but this month in visa bulletin i found that the date went back to 2002.
My question is: are they going to consider my application current or i stuck in the backlog. my understanding is that the visa bulletin reflects the availibility to send the application....they received my application on July 2nd, 2007.
someone please clarify the matter please.......thanks ahead
your application will be accepted and processed (since you applied when your date was current), but it cant be approved until you are current again. So you can keep getting/renewing EADs/APs, security and background checks will happen etc, but no final approval until EB3-ROW becomes current for your PD.

I agree that the DC rally is a critical event but I think I am loosing interest in this online forum. I guess the forum moderators may be busy with organizing the DC event. It's time for a clean up act. I am urging members to stop posting so many unnecessary and irrelevant threads. We all understand the importance of this rally. Peace!

Ok , just got off the phone with my lawyer.He says we can not file a I485 because the priority date is not current. EB3 is showing 01OCT01 and we can only file that form when the bulletin is showing April2002. He says we are not eligible for that...And then he said "if the date was current, you would be in Turkey for consular processing and will not need file"

Whatever my Lawyer has done , has not worked so far, I guess he sent copies of both I140's and a letter requesting to use the EB3 PD with the EB2 case.
My lawyer also done the same thing. However, TSC sent a reply back saying contact National Service Center.

Check with an attorney or the immigration coordinators in the school. F1 is not a dual intent visa, and once if you get F1, there might be some difficulties in getting back to AOS. Since you are in AOS, you should still be able to study in the school. Apply for an EAD and you if get assistance (TA/RA) you should be able to accept as you have a valid EAD. Other members in the forum, should be able to assist as well. Not sure, if there is any other reason to get on to F1 status, though you are in AOS.

Always try to go for group policy with your employer, even if you are paying 100% of the premium and your company is not contributing a dime. That way your premiums are lower than what you get from the open market...may be you do not have that option but good to know... I can vouch for Kaiser, they are very good.
I was using my employers policy where I had $1000 deductible and paying $1100 per month (2adults+2kids).I switched to BCBS for personal insuracne with $5000 out of pocket limits with $435 premium/month. my calcualtion was I pay $5000 as monthly premiusms + $5000 max deductible -$1000per month just like I was with my employer. At least we can see some saving until we have to spend some amount on healthcare as deductible+outofpocket expenses.So far luck is with me and hoping it will continue.
But Again --these plans keep on increasing their price yearly --So I am also looking for good plan in Maryland.When I compared from ehealthinsuranne.com BCBS had better plans than Kaiser.but Kaiser seems to be public choice here.

That's right. I have done just that. Since you are filing a fresh PERM and I-140, it can be a different employer, entirely different job, title, salary. etc. You are only porting the date from the other I-140, nothing else.
Does this mean I can port the PD even if I moving from a technical position to a managerial position in a different company. of course I know one has to file a new perm and I140 with the new company.

As I'm reading about Fred streaking for some photographs I suddenly remember the title of this thread, "black spot on images" and I think to myself if there's black spots showing up on some images it would need to be these "Fred pics". Nothing personal Fred but I don't swing that way. ;)

H4 people used to use TaxID instead of SSN in their tax returns (joint filing for ex.). What do they use when they get SSN after EAD ? Do they use SSN or just the Tax ID. Is there any requirement that they inform IRS that they got SSN and start using it instead ?

I have a question concerning my EAD.Company A applied for my H-1B After an year I have trfd my H-1 to company B and I have been working with company B for the past 2yrs 10 months.My H-1 b is due to expire in feb 2009.Company B Applied for my green card also. I-140 approved in November 2007.I got EAD in oct 2007 and has a valid EAD up to aug 2010.technically I am on EAD since I entered the country on advance parole.Now my company is going to renew my H-1 B .In light of the bill that has been passed which doesnot allow forfresh H-1 B as well as H-1 B renewals,what happens to my EAD if my H-1 renewal petetion gets denied?Does denial of non immigrant petetion leads to denial of immigrant visa (i.e pending adjustment of status).What happens to my EAD.I am worried a lot.Pls advice?Should I request my company to stop the renewal process so that I can stay on EAD only.

I feel your pain. Here is my advice. Talk to your local Senator. I have been in contact with my local senator since Nov 2008. Finally, i got my I485 approved on 10th Feb, yet to receive cards though.
My senator, the longest serving in the senate history, contacted at least 3 times with USCIS, as recent as Jan 28th. So just take their help, dont even hesitate.
Our priority date is not yet current but that seem like a good idea. How do I go about finding who to contact.

I would like to think that there are lots of members who are interested in participating in campaigns like this. I participate in most of IV campaigns and have sent flowers and called all reps for 5882. This is a campaign that I would be interested in participating in. If you are going to chat about this on IV chat (which many members cannot access because of restrictions), then please post the transcript and summary here so that we can at least understand the viewpoints of the participants and the action plan.

I am in similar situation.
I checked with the lawyer. They confirmed that it should notbe a problem. if you change employer you will have to have H1B tranfered to new Company.
I am thinking to change cannot continue hoping for GC and EAD

Is it really possible to move back to H1 with a new company from EAD, in case 1> you have approved 140
2> you have not used the entire of 3 year extension that you received b'cos of approved 140,and started using EAD.

yes you can. Since your PD indicates your LC is >365 days old.
new H1 is same as transfer, there is no real difference in application etc. I assume you are moving from AOS-pending/EAD to an H1.

The indian consulate needs a proof of address for me and my wife
We sent them the Property tax bill and hoped that it would work but get this mail from travisa
Proof Of Residence - Unacceptable
The proof of address received in your application is not acceptable for submission to the Indian Consulate. You must submit a proof of residence/address that matches the present address on the PIO application exactly. Photocopy of state issued ID (Driver License or ID), or major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric, Sewage) or a copy of a lease containing both the landlord and tenant signatures must be submitted. The following items are not accepted: cell phone bill, credit card statement or bank statement. The address cannot include a P.O. box. For minors, a parent or guardian proof of address from both parents may be submitted instead. You can fax the proof of address to Fax: (415) 644-0158. In addition, you also have the option of mailing a paper copy to the address below.
Now why does not a property tax not work ? it is issues by the county.
We do not have the current address on my wife's driver's license and her name is not there on the PGandE bill
Any suggestion ? or anyone had a similar issue ?
