1. Logically HUD document should work but again we are talking about Indian government so not sure. Insurance document might not work and I'm almost certain about it.

Hello,
I am on L1 B visa here for last 2.5 years working for MNC (Fortune 200). The benefits folks recently contacted me and told me that I was not allowed to participate in US retirement plans (401K) due to L1 visa restrictions, and that they are returning all my previous contributions and earnings back to me as an income. They said that they allowed to participate me for past 2.5 years by mistake.
My question is if this is true ? Are there other folks on L1 who are participating in 401 K plans ? what are my options here ?

It would be great if our core members get in touch with the executive editors of Information week (All contact information listed in informationweek.com) and send a document representing our issues. There is a good chance that it gets printed.
Information week magazine has a nationwide audience including CEO's who can push our case for lobbying. They have printed various articles in the past about HIB and Greencard issues.

I think you mean I need to see which dates are processing @ NSC; if my I-140 reciept date exceed more than 60 days then I can request my Attorney to got for SR(Service Request)?
Please confirm guys..by the way what are the documents we need to provide to go for SR or Attorney will handle it?

It takes 15 minutes at Boston ASC and you are expected to arrive 5 minutes before appointment just so that you can fill up a form. And you can take any copy so long as it has your name , Case # and A# on it. Its a simple process - no sweat!!!

Company A - EB3 � PD Nov 2004.
Company B - EB2 � PD Feb 2007.
In July-2007 I applied 485 Using Company A EB3. In Apr-2008 I moved to Company B and In Feb 2009 my attorney sent an interfiling request to change the category on my EB3 case to EB2.
My attorney also told that, in general this kind of update look complex to the USCIS people and ignore the request.
If that happens then the next thing is to let our senator or congress man call to USCIS and request them to show more attention on that interfiling request. And you should do this after 3 months after sending the interfiling request.
One question, did you received the same alien number on both the I-140s or not? In my case my alien numbers are also different.
Also as of today I did not know whether my interfiling is success or not. The only way I will know about it is by calling the service center, which I haven�t done yet.
My attorney has confidence that we can get the category changed.
Also as mmrao2007 specified, my attorniey also sent the documents with a covering letter with a colored paper and big bold letters on top, explaining the case and related case numbers.

You have to apply at HRDC office in the city nearest to where you land. HRDC is Human Resources Development Canada and they issue SIN CARDS. Google it.
Just make note that they are not open on Weekend. You can only apply for SIN on weekday.

Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On December 19, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
What does it mean? Does it mean that I-485 is approved.
Pls guide.
